Boys' Brigade SalisburyWe are the First Salisbury Boys' Brigade and we would love you to join us!
Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restrictions, we’re not able to run Boys’ Brigade at the moment. Take a look below to find out more, or drop us a line using the contact form. We hope to be back up and running as soon as possible. Stay safe.
What is Boys' Brigade?
Firstly, don’t be fooled by the name – Boys’ Brigade is actually for primary-aged boys AND girls. Our sessions are on Thursday evenings at The Impact Centre, Unit 1, Sussex House, Newton Road, Churchfields Industrial Estate, Salisbury, Wiltshire SP2 7QA from 5:30-6:45pm.
Boys’ Brigade is one of the biggest Christian Youth Organisations in the UK and we are the very first and only Boys’ Brigade running in the Salisbury area.
We are committed to seeing lives enriched by supporting children and young people to reach their full potential by providing opportunities to meet together and engage in a range of fun and developmental activities and experiences.
Boys’ Brigade Salisbury is run entirely by volunteers that are passionate about seeing children grow, thrive and build positive, lasting relationships.
What we do
Our Boys’ Brigade sessions last for 1hr and 15 minutes and include a range of activities that fit within the following five categories: Body, Community, Creativity, Mind and Spirit.
We play lots of games, enjoy physical challenges, learn songs and dances, make things, have races, watch videos and play outside when the weather is nice. We consider how we can help out at home and in our community and challenge the children to commit to doing something new that would make an impact on somebody else. We also have a spiritual slot at each session which aims to get the children thinking, teaches them something from the Bible and encourages them to pray.
The children are also able to gain awards by taking part in the organised activities each week.
Two or three times each year we invite our Boys’ Brigade families to join with us at City Gate Church, where all the children are usually involved in a performance of some kind. The Christmas nativities are always good fun and bring a tear to the eye! This provides a strong link between the church and the Boys’ Brigade families.
If you have a child that is interested in joining our Boys’ Brigade or you are part of a local church and fancy volunteering with us, please pop us a message and one of our team will get back to you as soon as possible. We’re always very happy to welcome new children or helpers and look forward to hearing from you.
